In recent announcements, Vice Chancellor Prof Isaac Kibwage made the following appointments for key roles at Egerton University.
Dr Walter Akello and Dr Evalyn Mwihia are now acting Chairs of the Department of Medical Physiology (Faculty of Health Sciences) and the Department of Veterinary Pathology, Microbiology & Parasitology (Faculty of Veterinary Medicine & Surgery) respectively, starting January 11, 2024.
Dr John Nduko was appointed as the Associate Dean at the Faculty of Agriculture. Dr Irene Kamanja became acting Chair of the Department of Veterinary Public Health, Pharmacology & Toxicology on November 22, 2023. Dr Kisipani Letura Mosiany took charge as acting Chair of the Department of Veterinary Anatomy and Physiology on November 14, 2023. Both of these departments are at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine & Surgery. On November 8, 2023, Dr Lilian Chesikaw assumed the position of acting Director of the Institute of Women, Gender and Development Studies.
Dr Agnes Nkurumwa, appointed on October 17, 2023, is now the Career & Guidance Focal Point for Egerton University. Her duties include setting up the Office of Career Services, aligning the National Policy Framework for Career Guidance to existing performance contracting and appraisal systems, developing career guidance and monitoring & evaluation strategy, creating and maintaining a database of career guidance activities and collaborating with the State Department for Labour & Skills Development.
