Ladies and gentlemen,
It is my pleasure to stand before you today as the Chancellor of Egerton University and to celebrate with you your achievements during our 46th graduation ceremony.
Ladies and gentlemen,
I have had the privilege of seeing firsthand the impact that Egerton University has had on the lives of our graduates. I have seen the transformative power of higher education, and I have seen how our graduates have gone on to make a positive impact in their communities and the world.
An example is our Engineering student, Joseph Nguthiru, who recently presented to H.E. President William Ruto, an innovation on converting water hyacinth into a biodegradable alternative to single-use bio-plastic products.
I am committed to supporting the education and development of young people. I believe education is the key to unlocking the potential of individuals and societies. I am proud to support Egerton University in providing high-quality education and fostering a culture of excellence.
To the graduands, as you look back on your time at Egerton University, I hope you will remember the hard work, dedication, and perseverance that brought you to this moment. You have overcome many obstacles, faced many challenges, and made many sacrifices to reach this point. You have pushed yourself to be the best version of yourself, and for that, I commend you.
As you prepare to leave the halls of Egerton University, I urge you to keep in mind the lessons you have learned here. The knowledge and skills you have gained will serve you well, but they are not the only things you have gained. The relationships you have built, the experiences you have had, and the person you have become will also be of great value to you as you move forward.
As you embark on the next chapter of your journey, I encourage you to use your talents and skills to impact the world positively. We live in an ever-changing and increasingly interconnected world, and you have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of others. Whether you choose to work in a corporate setting, pursue further education, or become an entrepreneur, you can shape the future.
As alumni of Egerton University, you will always be a part of the Egerton family. The Egerton University Alumni Association is a great way to stay connected with your fellow alumni and to support the University's mission. I urge you to become active members of the association and to give back to the University in any way you can.
Finally, I would like to thank the faculty and staff of Egerton University for their dedication and commitment to the education of our students. Your hard work and dedication have played a vital role in the success of our graduates. I would also like to thank the parents and families of our graduands for their support and encouragement throughout their journey.
In conclusion, I would like to extend my warmest congratulations to our graduands. You have achieved something remarkable and earned the right to be proud of your accomplishments.
Thank you and God bless you.
